Adam Cote

The former Democratic candidate for Maine’s 1st Congressional District has been nominated by Governor Baldacci to serve on the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority. Cote's nomination, which must be approved by the Legislature's Business, Research and Economic Development Committee, would fill one of two vacancies on the MRRA, which oversees the future civilian development of the Brunswick Naval Air Station when the Navy departs in 2011.

Herb Hoffman

The former Independent candidate for U.S. Senate is officially off the November ballot after the State Supreme Court invalidated three petition sheets, leaving Hoffman short of the 4,000 signatures he needed to become a candidate.

State Senate Leadership

Both the Republicans and the Democrats lined up candidates for all 35 seats in the Maine State Senate. That is tougher than it sounds, and a plus for voters who will have a choice in all 35 Senate districts in Maine. It’s a different story for the House, where Democrats left two vacancies and Republicans left 17.

The Commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services was named the #1 most influential political insider o n PolitickerME’s Powerlist 2008. Kennebunk

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the residents of Kennebunkport? Along with Biddeford Pool and most of Cape Elizabeth, it's essentially Martha's Vineyard. I'm not going to shed a tear.
