In an apparent attempt to win one of the state's electoral votes, Maine is the only state in which U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) outspent U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on television advertising last week.
Technically, McCain's expenditures were less than Obama's $75,000, but when the Republican National Committee's ads are included, advertising for McCain between Oct. 7 and 13 totaled $372,000 according to data obtained by The Fix.
Nationwide, Obama's $32 million in expenditures was double the amount spent on advertising by McCain ($10M) and the RNC ($6M) combined.
