CNN is reporting that the McCain camp is "shifting resources from Michigan to Ohio and Pennsylvania, and opening up an offensive front in Maine."
Not sure I saw that one coming.
It's unclear at this time if McCain is hoping to take advantage of Maine's unique electoral votes that are split by congressional district. That split could potentially send one of Maine's four electoral votes McCain's way if he were to win in the second district, which is traditionally more conservative than the yuppie southern part of the State.
This could potentially have a trickle down effect for candidates for Congress and the State Legislature if McCain has a strong Get Out The Vote operation in place north of Waterville. But, lets not discount the possiblility that the Maverick McCain will station staffers in Maine to provide ground support for his New Hampshire operation.
