Group hits Allen on support of card-check legislation

The Employee Freedom Action Committee has launched a campaign against U.S. Rep. Tom Allen, a Democrat running for the U.S. Senate against Republican incumbent Sen. Susan Collins.

Thursday a full page ad appeared in several daily newspapers slamming Allen for his support of the Employee Free Choice Act. The act is designed to make it easier for worker groups to unionize and has drawn fire from certain labor groups such as EFAC.

The bill’s opponents refer to it as the “card-check” legislation.

Allen refuses debate with primary opponent

U.S. Rep. Tom Allen has refused to two debates with primary challenger Tom Ledue.

Allen and Ledue are both running for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. The winner will challenge U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in November.

‘I missed the vote’ (for family reasons)

Sen. Susan Collins’ campaign has attacked challenger Tom Allen, a current U.S. Representative, for missing 144 votes in his 12 years in Congress.

Collins has continually touted her perfect voting record in her 12 years in the Senate.  read more »

Brennan, Ledue latest to submit signatures

Both Congressional candidate Michael Brennan and Senatorial candidate Tom Ledue, both Democrats, turned in their signatures to the Secretary of State’s office last week, making their campaigns official.

Ledue’s Democratic opponent U.S. Rep. Tom Allen also turned his signatures in last week.  read more »
