Incoming!

It's a good thing Adam Cote spent some time in the military, because the enemy fire is really picking up.

Throughout most of the campaign, Adam has been dodging sniper fire quite well. He has endured the sporadic burst of fire from Strimling on Cote's republican donors as well as the occasional grenade tossed in by Lawrence or Pingree on his on-again, off-again relationship with the Republican Party.

Plenty of danger, but Cote managed to escape uninjured.....so far.

Strimling takes Pingree to task for Iraq war stance

First District Congressional Candidate Ethan Strimling has called one of his opponents "inconsistent" on her Iraq war position, accusing her of "sending mixed messages".

In a statement released by the campaign, Mr. Strimling refers to a recent dust up in which Pingree made several public appearances and pronouncements supporting a withdrawal plan. The Strimling campaign has pointed out that Pingree has said she favors an immediate end to the war, yet she also signed on to a plan that withdraws troops and reduces US involvement over a period of time. That plan is known as the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq.

    Campaign Cash: Maine or Out-of-State?

Does it matter where your money comes from in a campaign? That question seems to get shopped around every two years as the various campaigns attempt to test the waters with voters on that issue.

    Candidate Finance Reports: Three views

Frankly, it is simply inaccurate to dutifully report the total amount raised. There are two things that campaign junkies should remember when looking at the health of a campaign; cash is king and the burn rate matters.

Chellie Pingree’s pollster tells Pingree she is way ahead in the polls!

Roll Call Magazine (A DC beltway paper) covered a story about an early poll released by the Pingree camp. Of course, the most interesting part about the poll that was not covered by Roll Call is that the Chellie Pingree and Celinda Lake (Pingree pollster) routine played out in the Pingree – Collins race in 2002.

    The Move-on.org Primary

With Tom Allen runnning for the U.S. Senate, look for a hotly contested Democratic primary to pick a successorWith Tom Allen runnning for the U.S. Senate, look for a hotly contested Democratic primary to pick a successorIt’s getting to the point where we now have more democrats employed in the campaign sector than we do the private sector.

The Congressional race in Maine’s first district is the race to watch in 2008 for the State of Maine. And right now, the Democratic Primary is where it’s all happening.

Just to cover their bets, it would appear move-on .org has four candidates vying for the liberal wing of the party and one candidate is running for the Republican wing of the Democratic Party. At this point, no one has indicated an interest in running for the Democratic wing.

Senate President Beth Edmonds to Chair Brennan for Congress Campaign

    Release Date: Oct 12 2007

Earlier today I joined Michael Brennan at the Portland Public Library to announce that I’m chairing his campaign for the US Congress. This is a vital election for our country and for our party – and there is no one I would rather have as my Congressman than Michael Brennan.

The problems facing this country are great, and these times demand elected leaders who have a record of achievement, who are sincere in their beliefs and who we can trust to make decisions on our behalf.
