The impact of Obama's VP choice

Recent news reports suggest presumptive Democratic presidential nominee U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) may be about to announce his vice presidential choice as early as Wednesday of this week. Much of the speculation has focused on U.S. Sens. Joe Biden (D-Del.) and Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), though it's unlikely either pick would bring a big financial boost to the campaign, since neither seems to have a large fundraising base in the state.

Biden received three $1,000 contributions from Maine donors in his 2002 Senate campaign, including from former ski resort owner Leslie Otten and CEO of Consumers Water Company, Peter L. Haynes. Ten Maine resident also contributed a combined $5,600 to Biden during his presidential campaign this past year. Bayh raised $1,500 during his 2004 Senate re-election race from two Maine residents, including $1,000 from the group senior vice president of Genzyme, David D. Fleming.

Edwards recently admitted to having an affair.

The radio hosts brought up the topic before addressing energy and health care issues.

“I feel sorry for his family, because how horrible. But also don’t you think he is the father of the child?” Collins said on the show.

“Of course he is!” the host remarked.
