Anytime the country is not
Anytime the country is not reminded at how joined at the hip McCain and George Bush have been for the past eightyears IS A HUGE FAVOR FOR JOHN MCCAIN. Now if they can only downplay the fact that two years ago, Sarah Palin was the mayor of a city with 5,000 people, and that John McCain is actually suggesting with a straight face that she is somehow qualified to be the leader of the free world, and is in fact THE MOST QUALIFIED REPUBLICAN to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Obama and his experience
Ahh, gee - she has more experience than Obama. Of course, it's pretty clear that misogyny is not a party platform for the dems. Between Palin, Mrs. Clinton and the excuse mongering for radical islam --I'm surprised there are women in the Dem party.
Crackpottery
portlandobsvr displays the usual wingnut crackpottery.
In what alternate universe does running a 7,000 population village $20 million into debt constitute relevant experience for the presidency of the United States of America?
And the "radical Islam" reference is yet more baldfaced racism. Hussein, Osama, blah blah blah. Pure racist hatred.
The wingnuts who hijacked the Republican Party after Nixon have led it down a long trail to intellectual and moral bankruptcy.
The best possible outcome for the Republican Party would be for this election to be sufficiently disastrous that the entire GOP gets cleared, reset, and rebooted so that it can offer reasonable, qualified, and intelligent candidates.
Any smart woman would stay
Any smart woman would stay away from McCain/Palin as it is obvious they would support the administration's attempt to pass a "conscience rule", which allows doctors to refuse to perform any medical procedure they have a moral objection to. This law is so loosely written this can include pharmacist and even the people that drive the ambulance. It also can go further than abortion and include contraceptives. Need that emergency birth control because a pregnancy could be life threatening to you? Sorry bucko instead of doing their job religious wackos can deny you service. This rule does not even allow of abortions in the cases where the pregnancy is life threatening to the woman. They also do not need to recommand another doctor and due the restrictions of some insurance plans and the fact sometimes you need to drive 5 hours out of way for some doctors this rule would result in poor medical care for women. So ask Palin about her pro-life stance and this "conscience rule" then ask yourself if she is the woman to represent you.
Must we be reminded of the incompetance of Nagin & Blanco.
I really didn't needed to be reminded that the first responder, RAY NAGIN(D), totally folded; the second Responder, gov. K. Blanco(D), was helpless and hopeless; the local levey boards were corrupt and incompetant; and the local politicans like Jefferson(D) were equally corrupt and worried about saving their 'cold cash'.
I don't mind being reminded that it was the Republican governor of Mississippi who pulled off a fast and credible recovery from the damage; while New Orleans lost 2/3rds of its population.
No wonder the people of Louisana elected a Republican, Bobby Jindahl and he has shined in his preparation for this potential disaster.
McCain can't lose by having both governors of Louisana and Mississippi at his side when it comes to votes in the S.East.
