No Budget Deal

Republicans and Democrats have parted ways on the budget, which means…..well it could mean just about anything.  The split is centered around MaineCare benefits, in particular the non-categorical program, which is a benefit program for childless adults.

The details should be forthcoming over the next few days as the two sides piece together dozens of amendments.

Wally: having sat through

Wally:
having sat through all these hearings, you could at least provide a little more detail.

this is about healthcare for 18,500 people making less than $10,400 a year.

Childless adults is your way of sanitizing the issue. These people live in grinding poverty.

I think those 18,500 people

I think those 18,500 people need to go to work. The non-cats is a scam--we were lied to about how it would be paid for and we were lied to about how many people would use it. I'm sorry people are poor--but this group of people are able bodied--and can get 2 jobs, just like the rest of us.

I wish you'd show a little more sympathy for the people paying the bills - this is free loading pure and simple and it is a sin.
