PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Republican Party’s Victory ‘08 campaign has organized “Super Saturday” -- a day of door-to-door campaigning and volunteer phone banks across Maine this Saturday, August 23. Volunteers will participate in phone banks in Maine’s Victory offices calling supporters and encouraging them to support Republican candidates on the ballot this November. Volunteers will also canvass neighborhoods knocking on doors of supporters across Maine.
“We have hundreds of volunteers dedicated to helping Republican candidates on the ticket this November, including electing John McCain for President, re-electing Senator Susan Collins, electing our Republican congressional candidates and candidates for state and local offices,” said Maine Republican Party Chairman Mark Ellis. “Saturday is going to be an outstanding show of support for Republican candidates on November’s ballot. This remarkable effort would not be possible without such a phenomenal group of committed and energized volunteers.”
Phone banks will take place in Victory’s offices in Portland, Bangor, Lewiston and Augusta. Door-to-door canvassing will take place in communities across Maine. Those interested in participating should call 207-891-9562 for information on activities in their community. ###
