PORTLAND, ME -- “Once again, the Democrats are using typical election year ‘scare tactics,’” said Maine Republican Party Chairman Mark Ellis.  “As President, John McCain will work in a bipartisan fashion to preserve the vital benefits Social Security provides America’s seniors.  McCain has a long record of bipartisan accomplishments, which cannot be said about Barack Obama.  Obama seems to be all over the map on Social Security and hasn’t been able to give a straight answer.  All we really know is that Obama is open to raising taxes on 10 million seniors – that is one in three senior households in our country.”                                              ###
