Collins bus tour hits the road

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Bangor) kicked off her statewide bus tour from her campaign office in downtown Bangor this morning. The campaign will be live-blogging and posting video updates on its website, www.SusanCollins.com.

"I have enjoyed attending recent events and speaking with Mainers all over the state, from Fort Fairfield to Old Orchard Beach, Rockland to Bridgton, and everywhere in between," said Collins, adding: "Now, our bus tour will officially kick off the campaign and will provide another great opportunity to continue my discussion with people all around Maine."

U.S. Rep. Tom Allen's (D-Portland) communications director Carol Andrews responded: "It is our sincere hope that Senator Collins is now ready to discuss the most important issues: making quality, affordable health care choices accessible to everyone, reversing the damage to middle class Maine caused by the Bush economic policies, putting the interest of Mainers over the interest of oil companies, and setting a deadline for withdrawal to bring our troops safely and responsibly home from Iraq."

The Collins bus tour will make stops today in Stillwater, the Medway Rest Stop on I-95, Oakfield and Houlton.

Mile High Allen

It is my sincere hope that Rep. Allen can make up the ground that his campaign has lost for him by being completely inept in Denver with ALL of those Maine voters...(who wouldn't vote for him anyway right?) "hope" for out of the Collins campaign tour while Tom Allen hit the road himself...all the way to Denver, Colorado.

Come on people, do you REALLY want Tom Allen to be your senator? Get a clue, Allen has no place in the United States Senate...he has no place in the United States House of Representatives, he would make a better ambassador because he seems to never want to stay in Maine for any length of time, but he loves talking about our state to others.

Allen is a do-nothing congressman and is going to get rightfully trounced in November by a Senator who is renowned for her constituent work and has at least some home-style.
