Simpson featured in public financing promo

Mike over at MainePolitics.net has flagged this interesting video of Rep. Deborah Simpson (D-Auburn), who is discussing how she came to serve in the Legislature.

Prior to running for office, she was a single mom working in a restaurant, and said she would not have been able to get involved had it not been for Maine’s Clean Elections system.

This year Simpson is running for the Senate, challenging incumbent Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello (R-Poland).

Can I vote for this woman.

Can I vote for this woman. We need more people like her in the legislature. Where does she live?

What a great story.
