McCain's Brilliant Pick
How do the Republican’s take away a rock star’s thunder and exploit a rift in the Democratic Party? You pick a gun toting, straight shooting, maverick managing, ethic virtuous…hockey mom for VP.
Whoever, in the Republican higher-ups, found this gold nugget running the state of Alaska deserves a two week vacation on a private jet anywhere in the world. Not only have the Republicans taken away Senator Obama’s thunder from last night acceptance and made it seem like a week old story, they now gain a large majority of the Clinton supporters who where dissed by the DNC. Republican women, who were on the fence, are now solidly in McCain’s camp. Christian conservatives get their solid pro-lifer, fiscal conservatives get a rising star, and the Republican party comes of age from white haired, old men running the party, to wrapping itself in the fabric of America. Republican voters, overwhelmed by Senator Obama’s momentum and star status, now realize this is a race to be won.
But, unfortunately, if McCain is elected, oil, gas, and coal companies will still direct the nation’s energy policy, suppress any new alternative energy programs, and make Alaska a wild cat drilling bonanza.
One of the biggest losers of Senator McCain’s choice could be Congressman Tom Allen. With this announcement, Senator Susan Collins may have wrapped up over 65% of the women’s vote in November without spending a dime.
Speaking of turnarounds, political pundits said this election is a turning point in American History – one of the most important, landmark elections in our time. In the newsrooms of America-or the world, there is no need to pump-up this Presidential election as “close” anymore, (e.g. Clinton-Dole race in 1996). It’s going to be close, and now, American History is guaranteed its landmark election.
