Following John McCain’s recent gaffe, when he told the Associated Press that he didn’t know how many houses he owned, Barack Obama’s Maine supporters are inviting Democrats to guess.
State Reps. Sean Faircloth and Michael Dunn, both Democrats from Bangor, are unveiling the contest at a press conference this afternoon. Then Mainers can stop by Obama’s Campaign for Change offices to guess. The prize is an Obama campaign bumper sticker.
In a story today, Politico reporters Jonathan Martin and Mike Allen wrote:
“’I think — I'll have my staff get to you,’ McCain told Politico in Las Cruces, N.M. ‘It's condominiums where — I'll have them get to you.’
“The correct answer is at least four, located in Arizona, California and Virginia, according to his staff. Newsweek estimated this summer that the couple owns at least seven properties.”
