Senate coasts through nomination process

Senate confirmation hearings: Ryan Low is congratulated by his colleagues following his confirmation by the state Senate.Senate confirmation hearings: Ryan Low is congratulated by his colleagues following his confirmation by the state Senate. The Maine State Senate confirmed a series of nominees to various boards and commissions as recommended by Gov. John Baldacci.

The Senate is coasting through the list, as no objections have been made to any of the nominees.

People in the room jumped – and then laughed – when one green light came up on the screen, signaling opposition to Ryan Low’s nomination. Moments later there were three solid rows of red on the screen -- Turns out Sen. Bruce Bryant (D-Dixfield) hit the wrong button.

Low, currently the deputy chief of staff to Baldacci, was confirmed as commissioner of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, and got a long standing ovation.

“That was too easy,” Sen. John Martin (D-Eagle Lake) to Low.

Anne Head also got a standing ovation for her appointment as Commissioner of the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.

"Senate confirmation hearings: Ryan Low is congratulated by his colleagues following his anonymous confirmation by the state Senate."

Senate Confirmations - What they are worth?

Is this the SAME State Senate that approved the nomination of a Political HACK as State Treasurer? This is the same State Treasurer that has "LOST" ten's of millions of dollars of my money?

Keep up the great work!
