Former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman, visited Maine this week to campaign for Charlie Summers, a Republican running for the 1st Congressional District.
Whitman is a co-founder of the Republican Leadership Council, which has endorsed Summers. She is also a former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Check back in a bit for more details on her visit.

Republican Leadership Council
The Republican Leadership Council has no stated position on abortion. It does seek to promote a "big tent" Republican Party that includes social conservatives and moderates. The primary purpose of Republican Leadership Council is to elect Republicans of all stripes to office.
The Republican Leadership Council should not be confused with the Republican Liberty Caucus: (both use the acronym RLC). The Republican Liberty Caucus is the "libertarian" wing of the Republican Party and seeks to elect pro-liberty candidates to office.
