Former Congressional candidate Adam Cote will chair a committee of Maine veterans who support Barack Obama for President.
Staffers for Obama’s campaign in Maine made the announcement in Bangor Wednesday with Steve Robinson, former Airborne Ranger and Gulf War veteran. Robinson is the Executive Director of the National Gulf War Resource.
Cote came in second in the primary for the First Congressional District Democratic Party nomination. He served both in Bosnia and Iraq.
“Barack Obama has fought hard for veterans and military families and will be a strong advocate for us as President,” Cote said in a release. “Barack Obama will restore America’s commitment to those who serve our country by building a 21st Century VA and ensuring that veterans get the care and benefits they have earned.”
Earlier Wednesday, a different coalition of Maine veterans announced their support for Republican candidate John McCain.

Can McCain handle his Handlers?
Seriously. It is No-Shock-Barack. No-Drama-Obama. He has an even hand. He is not rash. He thinks.
Educated. Brilliant. Inspirational. Calm. America is lucky that he will be our next President.
McCain however....
If not, then McCain can't hand the Presidency.
McCain was at the bottom 1% of his academy. Now the man is old. Ask almost any 70 year old, and ask them if they are still as sharp as they used to be. Listen to their answer.
I am a brain researcher, and I can tell you that there are serious changes that occur in an elderly brain that negatively affect a person's ability to make good decisions. The pre-frontal cortex rapidly deteriorates with old age, and the pre-frontal cortex is really important to our ability to resist out impulses. Teenagers don't have developed neo-cortexes, and this is why they often make poor choices. Sometimes they aren't able to stop their reflexive reactions. Would you give a teenager the RED BUTTON?
McCain can't even handle his
McCain can't even handle his own campaign. One mistake after another including the embarrassment over Hilton. I believe him to a reasonable man able to make many of the right decisions if left to make them on his own but in a political setting he is poisoned by his party.
