U.S. Sen. Susan Collins: Getty Images PhotoU.S. Sen. Susan Collins will take a $10,000 donation from the Northern Lights Political Action Committee and give it to charity. The PAC is affiliated with Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who was indicted today on seven counts of failing to disclose thousands of dollars in services from an oil services company that helped renovate his home.
Kevin Kelley, spokesman for the Collins campaign, said the campaign has not decided which charity the campaign will give the money to.
The Maine Democratic Party brought the monetary connection between Collins and Stevens to light quickly after news of the indictment broke. This was one of several attacks against Collins today.
In addition to this cycle’s donation, Collins accepted $10,000 from the PAC in 2002. Dirigo PAC, which is affiliated with Collins, gave $5,000 to Stevens this year.
"Susan Collins should send Senator Stevens' $20,000 right back to him," said Democratic Party spokeswoman Rebecca Pollard in a statement. "And she should tell Mainers why she continues to support Washington's culture of corruption exemplified by Ted Stevens."

Culture of Corruption
The campaign has made it clear that the early gap in the polls is due to Tom's low name recognition. Turns out that's a good thing right now as he can dodge any accusation of being part of the D.C. culture. Perhaps this has been his plan all along - crusing below the radar for the last 12 years in Washington - in the hope most voters will not even know that he is in fact part of the majority down there. Brilliant!
This is nothing
Another issue Tom Allen would be better served leaving alone. Readers may want to do a google search for 'tom allen' and 'norman hsu':

Allen's dirty dealings with Hillary's money guy make the Stevens donation look like nothing. And, Allen never gave all of the money back.
Might be a good thing to look into Politicker.
Yay Politicker! Once again
Yay Politicker! Once again showing your true blue side. Will you please at least put a disclaimer out that you are owned by the Maine Democratic Party, instead of just pretending to be fair.
Wipe your tears
It's been a pretty bad couple of weeks for you guys, huh? Obama virtually locking up the White House? Grampy McSame looking more senile than ever? Stevens going to jail? The DOJ finally exposed as a political arm of Karl? Proof the WH gave talking points to Faux News?
Want a tissue?
Huh?
Maine College Student, what is partisan about this story?
Jessica got both sides to it, and it's completely unbiased.
In fact, i think it makes Collins look good that she is giving away money that could have come from a dirty source.
your comment was very odd.
Anonymous1 is really out of touch with reality
Obama hasn't locked anything up if you haven't noticed. He may win Maine but "Grampa McSame" is more than likely to win the election. Americans aren't as stupid as you pretend they are. You have to be a complete idiot to tie McCain to Bush...they hate each other, they always have, always will.
Obama was well received in Europe because he fits the typical socialist model, and he also happened to take the stage after a major FREE concert in Germany.
Americans will see through the propaganda, Obama is running a European style campaign and it doesn't play well here...just take a look at the current polls. Gallup has it as 45% Obama (with all of the momentum) 44% McCain...that seems REALLY locked up to me.

Keeping the money in Oklahoma is good. I find this decision as the right thing to do for Inhofe’s Oklahoma constituents.
