Goodman, others ready for Denver

Benjamin Goodman, an 18-year-old high school student from Kennebunk, was elected as a Democratic National Convention delegate for Barack Obama.

Goodman said he will keep a blog about his experience in being a national delegate. He has also been elected to the Maine State Democratic Committee.

“I am truly humbled by your support and friendship. I look forward to working with you to do my part to make sure that Democrats win up and down the board in Maine and across the nation,” Goodman wrote in a message to his Facebook group.

National Delegates

Congratulations to the National Delegates and thanks for your sacrifice of time and money. When I was elected to the 2004 National Convention I took the money out of savings to cover my expenses even though I was due to retire in a couple of years. If I had to I would have taken a loan... it was worth every minute and every penny! I know some of the delegates have attended past conventions but to the new ones I say try and take every opportunity for training and workshops-you won't regret it! And a special congrats to my friend Maggie Allen-DNCwoman!!!
I frequently checked in with this blog to hear speeches and see results, glad it was here. Thanks!
