Wow.

What a blowhard!

At least his campaign is going down in flames... He'll be lucky to finish third.

So tax cuts are fine???

Tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans are fine as soon as we get out of Iraq?

Which he says should be today.

And responsible plans are diplomatic solutions, blowhard.

Enjoy getting fourth, you dirty trick pulling political hack.

Strimling speech

Did some of you actually listen to the speech? Ethan doesn't support tax cuts for the rich - he's suggesting that tax cuts during a time of war when others are asked to make huge sacrifices is immoral. AND - Ethan believes there is NO MILITARY SOLUTION to this war, ONLY A DIPLOMATIC SOLUTION, as you suggest. Obviously you support another candidate - just be fair and deal with the facts, please.

I couldn't find anything I

I couldn't find anything I disagreed with. I think the first to comments are republicans.

Ethan Strimling

Ethan has the value system and the passion to do what is right when under pressure. The first few comments (on this site) reveal only that his values and motivation create fear in those that do not want change to include the values of truth, fairness and economic justice.

Go Ethan, you have my vote!!

Extraordinary convention speech

Ethan's speech was extraordinary, delivered with fervor, covered all the bases of core Democratic ideals and I was VERY impressed. The best speech at the convention and the best I've heard in my 60 plus years of Democratic involvement.

Ethan cares

Ethan Stimling's speech comes from the heart --he cares, about all of the families he has helped through his leadership of Portland West, his outstanding legislative accomplishments in the Maine Senate, and his passionate statement to the Democrats at the Convention. Ethan deserves to go to Congress, because I know he will assist the next Democratic President to bring about change for the good of all Americans, just as he has for the people of Maine.

Ethan's speech

I cast my vote absentee, and have already voted for Ethan. He will represent what Paul Wellstone called "the Democratic wing of the Democratic party."
Is he ambitious-- you bet. He has ambition-- to get to DC and represent hard working Mainers. he has never let his ambition for holding office get in the way of taking real, principled stands for all of us.
He stood agst the war when it wasn't popular or considered "politically wise" to do it. he has stood-- bravely and with principle-- for stronger regulation of assault weapons, when he knows full well that the political situation in Maine made that a very controversial issue.
He didn't do it because of polls-- he did it because it was right.
I want someone with his passion, his ambition and drive to represent us.

Ethan's (as is the case for

Ethan's (as is the case for most liberals)biggest problem is class envy, but then again he has been living off the Maine taxpayers for years and doesn't know what it is like to run a business. He is not a Democrat but a socialist. I would vote for him and any other liberal if they put their money where their mouth was, I would like to see them give all their money to others and drive an old beater etc. I used to be a dem but realized they wanted to make me dependant on them for everything and worse yet if I did become successful then I would be penalized for doing so. Most liberals I know are dependant on gov't for jobs or money, (Ie unions, welfare, foodstamps...)not a way to live if you ask me.

Socialist is right. Nobody

Socialist is right. Nobody moves to Maine to become wealthy in the poorest state in the nation. Yet, all he talks about is taking from the rich to give to the poor. The only rich people in Maine are politicians. In Maine the we tax the "average person who gets up to go to work every day" and give it to the "stiff" that lives off the "Ethan" System. If you wanted to tax the rich then all you could tax is the politicians. NO MORE TAXES . . . NO TO SOCIALISTS . . . LEAVE MY HARD EARNED MONY ALONE!!!!!!!

He's Got My Vote

This speech is electrifying - and from the heart. He has the ambition, stamina, brains, and ethics to do the right thing in Washington.
His competition isn't bad - but he's head and shoulders above them.

Vote for Change - Vote Strimling!

We know we need to change the system in Washington DC, but we're still actually considering nominating Pingree (former President and CEO of a lobbying group in Washington DC) to represent us?

Okay, it can be argued that it was a 'good' lobbying group, and all lobbyists aren't necessarily bad....but the fact remains that she is an entrenched DC insider and part of the system we all want to "CHANGE."

All that time Pingree was lobbying in DC, Ethan Strimling was fighting for Maine people in the Maine State Senate...standing up to the Iraq War, reforming tax code, representing real Maine Democratic values!
