Convention Chair Beth Edmonds said the alternate upgrade confusion resulted from lists getting mixed up in the computers. Other sources say that convention officials were going off the lists of people who signed up to be delegates at the caucuses – not the list of delegates that showed up.
While the room is packed, lots of state delegates did not show.
As a result, things are behind schedule. County caucuses, that were supposed to begin at 1:00, will begin at 3:00. This pushes everything else back – Congressional candidates will make their presentations at 6:00, Senate candidates will make their presentations at 7:30, and keynote speaker U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin will go on at 8:30.
