Baldacci in Hillary’s cabinet? No way, he says.

Gov. John Baldacci was one of the first Maine superdelegates to declare his position. Even after Maine went for Barack Obama, he stayed with Clinton.

In his speech to the Maine convention, Baldacci said that no matter what, Democrats needed to remain united.

“I’ve known Hillary Clinton for 15 years. I know her ability, she cares, she knows what we can do and what we can’t do.”

After his speech, Baldacci said he decided to stay with Clinton because the state will send delegates for her, and believes the superdelegates should be split proportionately.

Baldacci is termed out in 2010, but he said there’s no way he will end up in a Clinton cabinet.

His next ambition? Perhaps he’ll be a ranger on a golf course, or the head of a boys and girls club, he said. In any case, he’s not leaving Maine, he said.
