UPDATE: Pingree has also been endorsed by the Portland area League of Young Voters
CD1 candidate Chellie Pingree, D-North Haven, has recently picked up two endorsements.
Today her campaign announced an endorsement by the United Auto Workers based at Bath Iron Works.
“Chellie is a real leader and we are proud to stand behind her in this race for Congress,” said Dwight Loines, Regional Representative for the UAW, in a release from the campaign. “She is an uncommon leader who shares our beliefs when it comes to fair wages and workplace safety, workers’ right to organize and bargain collectively, fair trade and reforming our broken health care system.”
Last week Pingree picked up the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters.
“The League of Conservation Voters is proud to endorse Chellie's candidacy. Our members will work hard to help her win this election, because Chellie is the champion our country and our planet deserve,” writes Gene Karpinski, the league’s president, in a column for the Times Record.
