On Day 2 of the Maine GOP Convention U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe applauded a number of people and groups who she said will help make this year a banner year for Republicans.
There was a little mishap getting to the convention, however. She was coming in on a plane from Aroostook County, where she surveyed the flood damage. She was reading and not paying attention, and the pilot forgot she was going to Augusta and they ended up in Portland – something was wrong, she said, when she saw the ocean. The pilot turned around and took her back.
While Snowe is the only one in the Maine delegation not up for reelection, she said in her speech that she will be travelling the state helping Republicans get elected on all levels.
“This is going to be a fantastic year for Republicans and it all starts right here and right now,” she said.
