Security has removed two men, both Ron Paul supporters, from the Maine Republican Convention.
Mark Finks of Falmouth said his rights were being violated when he was denied a chance to raise “a routine, procedural objection” on the convention floor.
He was an alternate and said he had been moved into a delegate slot, but officials told him he was an alternate and convention rules prohibited him from speaking. Seeing no microphone for people on the floor, he grabbed the microphone in front of the podium.
Finks said he was objecting to rules that prohibited the state from having a national delegation from Maine for Ron Paul.
Scott Kauffman, vice-chairman of the party, said Fink had no credentials to be on the floor.
“He was out of order, he wanted to be a credentialed delegate,” Kauffman said. “The convention chair stated that he was not.”
Julie O’Brien, executive director of the Maine Republican Party, said party officials beefed up security after hearing “threatening tones” from the Paul camp. Paul supporters denied that any threats were made.
She said that the party is complying with national party guidelines.
“We’re just following the rules,” O’Brien said, “and the laws.”
Ken Lindell, who is coordinating the Paul delegates, said the Finks incident was "totally isolated."
"Our delegates have been well behaved," Lindell said. "Things are going smoothly. It boggles my mind that people here were expecting trouble."
Also removed from the convention was Ed Cohen. Cohen said he is running as a write-in candidate against Susan Collins this June.
He said he was a delegate from Waterville. Party officials said he wasn’t.
Kauffman said Cohen is barred from participating in official party events. He could not say why.
Cohen said, “I’m the biggest threat to neo-conservatives. I’m a very powerful person. They’re scared s---less.”

okay Im not going to jump into conclusions
But who are those people?just what we needed. Make us look irrational and retarded.
Why the heck would you grab a microphone from the podium? Im a Ron Paul supporter but please dont blame the stupid actions of some individuals on "the Paul camp".
Cant this Fink and Cohen guy be plants from another camp?
just to make Ron Paul's supporters look like morons.
Yesterday night on Thursday May 1st
Even after the chaos in Nevada GOP Chairman Senator Bob Beers addressed a couple hundred Ron Paul supporters at the Las Vegas Ron Paul meetup yesterday and he said worst things. Eventhough this was a mostly Ron Paul supporters event nothing even close to this happened there. 9 videos if you follow the link.

Those people like Cohen and Fink dont represent us. See for yourself
False Flag
Either this was an overzealous Paul supporter, or this was a false flag operation. I'm going with the latter.
I don't believe they were supporters
True RP supportes know not to do that, I don't think the media verified this before they posted it. Have they talked to other members of there meetup group , thats one resource as a REPORTER I would look into, there dailypaul handle name perhaps. And if they have that how long have they been on the dailypaul, what posts have they made.
why?
why would anyone try to make the Paul people look crazy?
what would be in it for them?
as far as the mainstream Maine GOP is concerned, Paul and his Ronulans are a non-factor at this point.
It's actually silly to think that someone is trying to make the Ronulans look bad.
granted, the people who did this were probably not even close to mainstream Ron Paul supporters, but they certainly WERE Ron Paul supporters who were too overzealous.
the problem is that all Ron Paul supporters have been framed as being all alike, when that's not truly the case.
nor is it ever with supporters of any candidate or issue.
Removed under whose authority?
Was there a vote taken to remove these people?
take the tin foil hat off
why would you need a vote to enforce rules?
Ron Paul compromised by McCain infiltrators
Julie O'Brian said I was removed for unruliness, but she will not elaborate for any reporter. Scott Kaufman says I have been barred from any party business, but he does not say since when. When I appealed to the credentials committee,Scott Kaufman and Phil Roy, my only response from Scott was that Julie said I was not a delegate.
Let's get one thing straight. You will never know a more conservative conservative than Ed Cohen. I was already spending time and money at the beginning of last summer for Ron Paul. And that was not the beginning. I have no political ambition and never intended to file for US Senate. For years I have been entreating people to challenge the incombents in major races. I asked Kenny Lindel, Stavros Mendros, Pam Gerry, Bill Slavick, Jean Hay-Bright, David Bright, Chris Miller, Laurie Dobson, Dave somethingorother from Minot, and countless others who were waiting for someone else to do it. Don Christen was the first GOP candidate for US Senate into the first week of January. Don has sponsored two marijuana initiatives through mainevocals.com and is already stretched too thin. He has been very generous in my campaign, and I could not ask for a better friend.
Nevertheless, not even one Maine Ron Paul pussy threw his own hat into the ring. John Frary is pleasant enough, but many Ron Paul caucusers could have cleaned his clock if they had any balls. They did not. Dean Scontras and Charlie Summers did not support Ron Paul and are both pro-war, and many Ron Paul caucusers could have blown them both out of the water. The did not.
Julie O'Brian and Chuck Mahaleris personally told me, in front of Chris Massey, Augusta PD, that I was not a delegate because I was not on "their" list. They would not allow me a guest pass, visitor's pass, and told police that I was personna non grata. I was banned from the building.
Many people came out of the woodwork, and told me things in the parking lot that even I had not heard, but each story was told by different people in amazing likeness.
Kenny Lindel, Larry Ringrose, Peter and Bonny Tucker, Mark Durgin, Stavros Mendros, Steve Martin, Neal Patterson individually and collectively lobbyed Mark Ellis to prevent me from attending convention. Mark Ellis told me personally that every ranking republican and all staff had been instructed to blacklist me from any party funtion. Mark Ellis assured the above that Edward Cohen would be no problem at convention, and Mark would deal with me personally.
It is very early in the morning, and I want to get back to convention as soon as I get some rest.
This ain't the half of it.
But, here is the rub. Why did all my sympathetic friends, who approached me in the parking lot, wait until it was too late to even tell me what was happening behind closed doors?
Why has the Ron Paul delegation shunned me?
I expect shoddy treatment from Mark Ellis, his toady Julie O'Brian, and messenger boy Chuck Mahaleris. That is how criminals behave.
I should have known better. I should have seen through the hoards of pussies wanting to feel good about themselves by jumping on the libertarian bandwagon.
Everyone wants to feel good about what happened in Nevada when Ron Paul delegates challenged the rules. I am getting messages from all over the country asking me what happened to the Ron Paul campaign in Maine.
I will tell them more, but what happened to Mark Finks and I in Maine would not pass in Nevada. Those people succeeded in shutting down the convention, and you people have wet your panties.
There will not be a single Maine Ron Paul delegate to St. Paul who will not vote for John McCain. You can take that to the bank.
I don't give a crap about what you have to say about Mark Finks and myself, but you will have to live with Susan Collins for another 6 years if you do not write in Edward Cohen for US Senate on June 10.
If you have any self respect, you will appeal the ruling of the credentials committee on the floor as soon as the gavel strikes. You ask anyone who knows Ed Cohen; he would stop this goddamn convention cold if it happened to even one of you. Put up or shup up. Pussies.
A few remarks.....
Chris.....the Chair of a convention or other such assembly needs no "motion" to remove someone they deem is disrupting the proceedings. There could then be a motion to "Appeal the Decision of the Chair".....but an initial motion isn't necessary at all.
To Ed...What happened in Nevada didn't happen in Maine. And you know why? Because the Paul supporters in Maine played by the rules. Sure, some people stood up. Those that were respectful sat down when their transgressions were noted to them.
Also, with the eloquence you display in your post, how could you even wonder why your presence is unwelcome in so many circles?
Lastly.....how did that urging for an appeal of the credentials committee work? Lemme guess.....after calling out the people who's help you were seeking by telling them to "shut up or put up, pussies", it probably didn't go quite as you'd hoped, eh?
