Here is the tentative schedule for Friday. The two-day convention will continue on Saturday.
9:30 a.m.: Opening ceremonies and a welcome from Augusta mayor Roger Katz, followed by the election of officers and a roll call of county chairs
10:30 a.m.: Demonstrations with state Senate and House candidates, and an introduction of county candidates
Noon: Lunch break
1:30 p.m.: Election of National Committeeman and National Committeewoman. Richard Bennett is running for committeeman, and Kathy Watson and Jan Staples are running for committeewoman.
2:10 p.m.: State Party Chairman Mark Ellis speaks
2:20 p.m.: John Frary, candidate for the Second Congressional District, speaks
2:30 p.m.: A representative from Charlie Summers’ campaign speaks. Summers, currently serving in Iraq, is a candidate in the First Congressional District
2:40 p.m.: Dean Scontras, also a candidate in CD1, speaks
2:50 p.m.: The Maine Republican Party Platform will be discussed and adopted
4:00 p.m.: State Delegates will break into county caucuses
7:30 p.m.: Presidential banquet with keynote speaker Gov. Mitt Romney
