Six members of the Maine College Republicans are running for the Maine House of Representatives this year.

They are:

Tyler Clark, R-Easton, is running for House District 5. Clark will graduate this year from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.  Incumbent Jacqueline Lundeen, D-Mars Hill, is termed out. Clark is the only Republican in the race, and in November will face the winner of a primary between Robert Glidden Jr., D-Westfield, and Echo Kaply-Smith, D-Mars Hill. Clark ran against Lundeen in 2006.

Jonathan Browher, R-Lewiston, is running for House District 73. Browher will graduate from Bates College this year. In November, he will face incumbent Richard Wagner, D-Lewiston, who is up for reelection.

Andrew Kabatznick, R-Waterville, is running for House District 76. Kabatznick will graduate from Colby College this year. Incumbent Marilyn Canavan, D-Waterville, is termed out. Kabatznick does not have a primary opponent, and in November will face the winner of a primary contest between Henry Beck, D-Waterville, and Antone Tavares III, D-Waterville.

Ryan Lorrain, R-Waterville, is running for House District 77. He graduates from Thomas College in 2010. He does not have a primary opponent, and will run against incumbent Pamela Trinward, D-Waterville, in November.

Angela Courchesney, R-Livermore Falls, is running for House District 87. She graduates from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2009. Courchesney will face Paul Gilbert, D-Jay, in November,

Keith Mahoney, R-Farmington, is running for House District 89. He graduates from UMF in 2009. He will face incumbent Janet Mills, D-Farmington, and also Frederick Swan, an independent from Industry, in November.

“Each of these fantastic candidates has demonstrated tremendous courage and self-sacrifice in deciding to run for elective office at such a young age,” said state College Republican Chairman Nate Walton in a statement. “Each candidate has proved their dedication to the conservative cause and I have great faith in the ability of each of them to bring change and hope to the people of Maine. Win or lose, each candidate should be commended for their hard fought efforts.”
