As follows are some highlights we picked out from the latest round of Ethics filings. 290 candidates have filed to run – 166 Democrats, 112 Republicans, four Greens, and six unenrolled candidates.
Of the Democrats, 74 are incumbents, 53 are challengers and 39 are challengers in open seats.
Of the Republicans, 63 are incumbents, 53 are challengers and 12 are challengers in open seats.
Of the unenrolled candidates, 5 are challengers and one is an incumbent. Of the four Greens running, three are running in open seats.
There are only two seats with no candidates – H.D. 69, which is part of Auburn, and H.D. 105, which includes Durham, New Gloucester and part of Lisbon.

No part of Kennebunk...
No part of Kennebunk is in House District 133, which is Pilon's district as you said. Ladd either wrote in the wrong town or, more likely, the wrong district in his Ethics registration. Incumbent State Representative Pamela Trinward of Waterville appeared to have done that when she first registered, as I doubt she was intending to move to Munjoy Hill and run for Anne Rand's seat.
A majority of Kennebunk is in House District 141 (http://mainegov-images.informe.org/sos/cec/elec/apport/House/h141.pdf), which is entirely in Kennebunk and is currently represenated by Kennebunk Democrat Christopher Babbidge, while the remainder in northern Kennebunk is in House District 140 (http://mainegov-images.informe.org/sos/cec/elec/apport/House/h140.pdf), which is currently represented by Gary Connor, also a Kennebunk Democrat although his predecessor was an Arundel Republican, so it appears to be a swing district not dominated by any one town. Pilon's House District 133 (http://mainegov-images.informe.org/sos/cec/elec/apport/House/h133.pdf) inludes roughly the eastern part of Saco. As Ladd's listed address is a P.O. box, and I didn't see his name as a candidate for the House (at least not a Republican one) in 2004 or 2006, I can't tell which House district he lives in.
Thanks for the
Thanks for the clarification, Kevin.
Perhaps you could add the Pilon-Ladd race back
I PMed someone on a web forum I thought might know Ladd who referred me to someone else who sent me this message:
Maybe he works in K-bunk or has a PO Box there for another reason?
From the web....
Bruce Ladd (207) 284-6292 14 Ocean Park Rd, Saco, ME 04072
From Google Earth 14 Ocean Park Rd. (and the entire road actually) is in House District 133. So my guess is he does live in that district and you guys just (understandably) got his municipality wrong. Sorry about the confusion.
