Dobson: No more family holidays in Maine for Bush clan

U.S. Senate candidate Laurie Dobson wants the Kennebunkport Board of Selectmen to indict President BushLaurie Dobson, an independent candidate for the U.S. Senate, doesn’t want President Bush or Vice President hanging around her neighborhood. If they come to Kennebunkport, she wants them arrested.
It sounds pretty outlandish at first. But Dobson has developed a plan to have them indicted in her town for war crimes. She said she’s consulted with her lawyer, and it’s legal.
Brattleboro, Vt. is doing it too.
Kennebunkport is home to a compound belonging to former President George H. W. Bush.
Dobson will file a formal writ of indictment next Tuesday at Kennebunkport Town Hall. It will go before the town’s Board of Selectmen. If they pass it, the indictment will go before voters.
“Our nation has reached a point where it is imperative for us to take action to hold this administration accountable,” Dobson said in a release. “The Constitution gives citizens the right to pursue these war criminals and bring them to justice.”
The indictment reads: “Shall the Kennebunkport Board of Selectmen instruct the Town Attorney to draft indictments against President Bush and Vice President Cheney for crimes against our Constitution, and publish said indictments for consideration by other authorities, and shall it be the law of the Town of Kennebunkport that the Kennebunkport Police, pursuant to the above-mentioned indictments, arrest and detain George W. Bush and Richard Cheney in Kennebunkport if they are not duly impeached, and prosecute or extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them.”
Dobson will file the writ at noon Tuesday, followed by a press conference.
She said she has not discussed this with town officials. Reached by phone Friday, Mathew Lanigan, chairman of the Kennebunkport Board of Selectmen, said he was not familiar with her initiative. However, after hearing the general concept, he said he would not support it.
In Brattleboro, Vt., a similar indictment is going before a town meeting March 22, CNN reports.
According to the article, the Vermont Attorney General has sued the Bush Administration over environmental issues. At the time the story was written, he has not done any research on the proposal, "But at first blush, if this passed, they'd have really uphill sledding trying to have it be legal and enforceable."
If Dobson’s plan was to come to fruition, and Bush did decide to make a visit to Kennebunkport, it wouldn’t be the first time he was arrested in Maine. In 1976 he was arrested for driving under the influence by his parents’ compound.

Eventually, everyone (except for the hard-core delusional Kool-Aid drinkers) will see that this misAdministration is a criminal gang and that the past 7 years have been a crime spree that's bankrupted America, enriched their friends, screwed most Americans, killed thousands, hundreds of thousands of people and shredded the Constitution. This arrest warrant should be the beginning of the 'Pinochetting' of the Thugs. Make it so they can't travel, can't go out in public for fear of arrest.

I commend and applaud Dobson for having the courage and energy to take such a bold act on holding our President G.W. Bush and Vice President accountable for their atrocious actions. Furthermore, these men have stripped Americans of their Constitutional Rights through mass propaganda and fear of ‘terror’. it's about time that people in government got a spine. these two should have been arrested for war crimes years ago. they believe themselves to be above not only the laws of the land but international laws as well. we can only hope that one day they get their comeuppance and pay for their crimes. a majority of the country believe they should be impeached and tried for their crimes. what's taking so long?

She has more courage than many men who will not stand against the corruption in our government. This is for Doc.... It's YOU that's drinking the Kool-Aid! And YES! If I had MY way, they's all be tried at the Hague too. I see that even after all of this, there are still a few mindless Bush supporters around. Honestly, there are no words that can describe how I feel about their blindness. I hope that ALL states will pursue legislation like this. You can't blame Ms. Dobson. There are millions of Americans that have been asking congress to do this same thing. Congress knows Bush is stepping over the line on his executive powers. Impeachment is a must, not an option in the constitution. However, all rights not specifically given to the Federal government lay on the States and the people.
