CD1 candidates debate in Portland

Both Republican and Democratic 1st Congressional District candidates took the stage at the SPACE gallery in Portland for one of the better-attended debates.

They discussed a number of topics – the Iraq War, the economy, health care. Democrat Ethan Strimling and Republican Dean Scontras had some harsh exchanges over health care and affordable housing, and Strimling confronted Democrat Adam Cote over why he did not support raising the minimum wage in Maine.

Cote said it is something that should be done on a national level.

Check PolitickerME.com Thursday for more details and audio of the debate.
