Most of Tom Allen and Mike Michaud’s tour through Washington County was consumed with tales of struggle and burden. They did get some good news, however, when they attended the grand opening of Acrobat Research Thursday.
The data collection service has brought more than 200 jobs to Calais.
The company is from Canada, and Calais is the first U.S. location. The company will be adding more, focusing on smaller communities.
“It’s good to hear some good news,” Allen said to the group at the grand opening Thursday. He commended Washington County residents for their work ethic. “People will be loyal and work hard.”
